the presence of a roof over my head, not its size or style, is what matters

faith trumps certainty
the present, not the future, is for living

happiness is a choice
relationships are better investments than things
comparing people is futile
there is as much good as bad in the world
we can't protect our children from disappointment but we can teach them to be resilient
