We woke up at 4am in Frankfurt, Germany and almost exactly 24 hours (and 1 metro, 1 train, 3 planes, 4 airports, and 1 drive) later ended up in Provo, Utah!
I have so much to post, but for now I'm just going to say that our humble abode now feels like a mansion. All this space just for us? And what is this soft padded stuff I'm walking on--carpet? And you mean to tell me that we not only have our own washer but also a dryer? And what's this enormous grassy area behind our house?
An enormous thanks to everyone who kept up our house while we were gone! It's oh-so-good to be home.

We're off
Again. Before I even had time to catch up on blogs from the last trip.
We have ten days in Germany, the Netherlands, and Luxembourg ahead of us, then we'll be home June 29!
And then I'll finally get caught up on everyone else's blogs too.

Silhouette
Bonnet!
We're back from our trip--it was amazing, but more on that later. In the meantime, look at this amazingly adorable bonnet that the lovely and talented Danielle has created. You can enter to win this one on her site or buy the pattern from her and make your own! It would be perfect on your own little sweetheart or make a great gift for somebody else's.Wednesday, June 10, 2009
Road trip
We're driving down the Costa Brava. We started with another glorious day in Tossa da Mar, followed by a stint in Barcelona and today in Tarragona. We've decided on a second honeymoon here--maybe in four more years for our tenth anniversary? We'll keep you posted. And I'll keep posting . . . later.

Note to self
When a Spanish museum (specifically Museo de America) says it closes at 3pm, that means that all of the museum staff want to be outside the museum at that time--and will be as rude as it takes to accomplish that goal.
Big sister
Zoë has loved having a big sister in Alex. Indeed, "Alex" (pronounced "Ally") is the only name--other than family names like mama, etc.--that Zoë has mastered. Even though they're four years apart, they both like spending time together.
Alex is always willing to make funny faces or dance around to entertain Zoë when she's bored or cranky.

Alex built a fort for her and Zoë, which they "read" books inside of.
Even though Alex sometimes still likes to get carried after a long day walking . . .

. . . she's also great at helping Zoë learn to walk!
Oh, and Zoë also has multiple mothers now. I'm thinking I could live this way permanently . . . hmmm, what am I advocating?
